This element displays a video (supported formats: H.264 (MP4), other formats possible depending on installed codecs).

Source, Fit

Source

In the drop-down menu the origin of the video is determined.

None

In the editor, a white movie icon is displayed on a gray background. In the application on the local client, the element is displayed with the set border and background. The element can only be made invisible with this setting. If the element should also be hidden in the layout, it must be hidden via the display conditions.

Upload

The Select File button opens the file selection dialog of the browser. The selected file will be uploaded, added to the media library and stored as a video file for the element. Once a file is uploaded and selected, the button is labeled with the file name.

Existing file in project

In the File drop-down menu, the images are displayed alphabetically by their file name. If media sharing has been allowed in another project by means of the project settings, they will also be displayed in this list under the their project title as a heading.

Fit

The options for adjusting the video image are identical to those for the image element.

Audio playback

The button next to the Audio playback title activates the playback of the video sound. When playback is activated, the slider adjusts the volume. However, this volume can still be influenced by settings of the local client and by its components.

Preview

A preview image is displayed when the video is not playing. The selection of the image is analogous to the selection of the video file. Since the fit settings of the video are adopted, the resolution of the image should match that of the video.

Play

These options control playback and control on the client.

  • Show Controls determines whether the controls are displayed that can be used locally to control the video (pause, stop, rewind).
  • The Auto Play option ensures that the video is played as soon as the video element is displayed.
  • The Loop option allows you to set whether the video should run in a continuous loop.
