Licensing the client
The SiteKiosk Online Client is licensed by registering to a team on the SiteKiosk Online Server.
Therefore, registering the SiteKiosk Online Client with a team always requires a corresponding number of licenses in the team. If no more licenses are available, no new SiteKiosk Online Client can be registered and new licenses would have to be added/acquired.
On the >Team>Licensing page you can find all the information about the validity period and number of your licenses for your team. Here you can also add more licenses.
See also "Licensing"
However, the licenses are not tied to a specific client and can also be released by logging off or moving a SiteKiosk Online client to the "Unlicensed Clients" folder. A SiteKiosk Online client can only be retrieved from the "Unlicensed Clients" folder if a free license is available. This can also be achieved by manually moving another client to the "Unlicensed Clients" folder. Unregistering the client via the startup dialog or deleting the client from the "Unlicensed Client" folder is permanent.
Test / Trial period
When you create a new team on the SiteKiosk Online Server, it will receive a trial license for 10 SiteKiosk Online clients that is valid for 30 days.
- On the SiteKiosk Online client for Windows, the trial license will display a watermark with the message "Trial Mode" at the bottom right of the screen.
- The SiteKiosk Online Client for Android will display a corresponding notice every few minutes.
As soon as a valid license is added, the trial license and the trial notice on the clients will disappear.
Expiration of a license
When a license expires, a corresponding message is displayed on the client screen instead of the current project. In addition, the clients will be moved to the "Unlicensed Clients" folder. At the same time, the protection will remain intact and the SiteKiosk Online client can only be terminated by entering a password.
Contact to the server
If a licensed client is unable to establish contact with the SiteKiosk Online Server, the last configured project will be retained for the time being. After a grace period of 7 days has expired, a corresponding message will be displayed on the client. Here, too, the client's security will remain intact and the terminal can only be unlocked by entering the master password.
Once the server connection is restored, an attempt is made to update the local license and if successful, the terminal resumes normal operation.
