Files & Downloads
The checkbox allows the download of files to the client.
The folder in which the files are saved is defined by the input field Download folder.
The web pages from which downloading is allowed are defined by the URL list when the checkbox is active.
To limit network usage, the size of the files can be restricted by a limit in megabytes.
File actions
Here you can define the behavior of SiteKiosk with different file types.
To add a new rule, click “Add” and enter the following information in the dialog that appears. The file type (pdf, png, txt) and the action that SiteKiosk should perform with files of this type.
Depending on the action type, you have the option to activate “Autostart”. This will cause SiteKiosk to execute files of this type directly after the download.
If you want to open the file via “Open with custom application”, you must also enter the path of the application (on your clients) in the “Application path”.
File Manager
Here you can define the behavior of the file manager. The file manager can be used instead of the download dialog and allows users to navigate and manage files on the client.
You can activate “Use download folder as mountpoint” so that users have access to the SiteKiosk download directory.
With “Add external storages as mountpoints” active, external storage media such as USB sticks that are connected to the client are automatically added to the file manager.
If you want to share additional directories with the user, you must enter the appropriate information and permissions in the dialog under “Add path”.
